Cabot vs. St Werburghs

It has been a great, physical start to the new, sporty school year. On Thursday 8th November, Cabot played an away football match against St Werburghs Primary School.

Eight girls and boys from year 4 were chosen. We left school at 3:30 and walked down to St Werburghs. Once we got their, the chn had a chance to practise their skills before the big match. This also gave them the opportunity to meet their opponents and plan their strategy and formations

The game started with each team lining up and shaking hands. Once the starting whistle was blown, the Cabot players worked well as a team to defend and attack.

Although St Werburghs beat Cabot by a small amount, the Cabot team had a brilliant time and showed fantastic team work and resilience. Every single player smiled and congratulated their opponents on their achievements.

Congratulations Year 4 Cabot players. You made us very proud!

Year 5 Football Tournament

Year 5 Football Tournament

On Thursday 25th October, Cabot invited year 5 players from Glenfrome and St Werburghs Primary School to our school to participate in a the first football tournament of the year.

To begin the tournament, the 10 girls and boys from Cabot introduced themselves to the players from the other schools and began practising their shooting skills using the goals in one of the courts. It was great to see the children sharing and comparing other skills they had learnt.

Once everyone was warmed up, the games began. Firstly, Cabot played a match against Glenfrome. Secondly, Glenfrome played against Cabot and lastly, Cabot played against St Werburghs. Each half was about 7 minutes long and all the players played amazingly throughout.

Spectacular start to the Cabot Sports year and well done to all the players that the took part!

Cabot Primary School PE blog!

Hi everyone and welcome to our new PE blog. This blog will give us at Cabot the opportunity to share all the fantastic PE, physical activity and sports learning and experiences that happen at here throughout the year.

To begin, I would like to update parents and families your children's PE day(s) and therefore when they will need their PE kits. The weekly timetable for term 2 is as follows.

Monday AM: Reception (We will be introducing PE kit soon)
Tuesday PM: Year 1 and year 2
Wednesday PM: Year 2
Thursday PM: Year 4
Friday: Year 1 AM and year 3 PM

Please remind your children to keep their PE kits in school during term time and to bring them back after the school holidays.
